Off-Road Recovery
On Every UK Motorway
Our off-road recovery service uses purpose-built 4x4 recovery vehicles to reach and extract vehicles from fields, tracks, green lanes, and other off-road locations. We carry powerful winches, ground anchors, and all-terrain equipment to handle the most challenging recoveries.

About Our Off-Road Recovery Service
Not all vehicle recoveries happen on tarmac. When a vehicle becomes stuck, bogged down, or breaks down in an off-road location, a standard recovery truck simply cannot reach it. Our off-road recovery service is specifically designed for these situations, using purpose-built 4x4 recovery vehicles that can access locations where conventional trucks cannot go.
Our off-road recovery fleet includes modified 4x4 vehicles fitted with heavy-duty winches, extended recovery booms, and all-terrain tyres. These vehicles can traverse muddy fields, rough tracks, steep inclines, and waterlogged ground to reach stranded vehicles in locations that would be inaccessible to a standard recovery truck. We also carry portable ground mats, sand ladders, and traction aids to create temporary access routes where the ground is too soft for even our 4x4 vehicles.
Off-road recoveries require a different skill set to road-based work. Our operators are experienced in assessing ground conditions, identifying safe anchor points for winching, and calculating the best extraction route to minimise environmental damage. We are mindful of our responsibilities to landowners and the environment, and we take care to leave recovery sites in the best condition possible. Common off-road recovery scenarios include 4x4 vehicles stuck on green lanes, farm vehicles bogged down in fields, cars that have driven into ditches on rural roads, and event vehicles stuck in muddy festival or show grounds. We also support motorsport events and off-road driving experiences where vehicle recovery may be needed. Our off-road recovery service is available 24 hours a day, because getting stuck in a field at midnight is just as inconvenient as getting stuck during the day.

What Is Included
What's Involved in Off-Road Recovery
Vehicles end up off-road for a wide range of reasons: a misjudged turn onto soft ground, a farm track that became impassable after rain, a car that has left the carriageway after a collision, or a 4x4 that has become embedded in mud well beyond its own recovery capability. The common factor is that the terrain itself has become part of the problem, and any recovery attempt that ignores that will simply add a second stuck vehicle to the situation.
Our off-road recoveries are handled by 4x4 recovery trucks equipped with high-capacity winches, shackles, snatch blocks, and recovery boards. Depending on the ground conditions, we may winch the vehicle from a fixed anchor point, use a snatch recovery strap for a dynamic pull, or lay recovery boards to create a firm surface beneath the tyres. Before any line is attached, the driver assesses the ground around and beneath the casualty vehicle, checking for hidden ditches, soft edges, and any risk of the recovery truck itself losing traction.
Working off the tarmac introduces hazards that do not exist on a standard roadside job. Ground can shift unexpectedly, winch lines under load store significant energy, and vehicles embedded in mud or on slopes can move in unpredictable directions once traction is applied. Knowing how to manage these forces, the correct rigging angles, the right anchor points, when to use a snatch block to redirect a pull, is what separates a safe extraction from a recovery attempt that causes further damage or injury.

What Our Customers Say
“Broke down at 11pm on the M25 near the Wisley interchange. Called these guys and they had a recovery truck with me in under 40 minutes. Professional, friendly, and the price was exactly what they quoted on the phone. Genuinely saved my night.”
“Ran out of diesel like an idiot between Luton and Milton Keynes on the M1. Pulled onto the hard shoulder near Junction 10 and called them. They delivered 10 litres of diesel within the hour and even checked my tyre pressures while they were there. No judgement, just helpful.”
“My van broke down fully loaded heading north on the M6 past Stoke. Other companies quoted ridiculous prices or said they could not do it until morning. These guys came out at 2am with a flatbed and sorted everything. Will not use anyone else.”
