A relay moves a vehicle across the country by passing it between two or more operators rather than sending a single driver on an all-day round trip. The first operator collects the vehicle from its origin and transports it to an agreed handover point, typically a motorway services or a depot, where the second operator takes over for the next leg. For very long routes, a third stage may be used. The approach mirrors how parcel networks work and delivers the same benefit: faster collection, because the first driver is already nearby, and no excessive hours for any single operator.

Every handover follows a structured process. The outgoing operator and the incoming operator both inspect the vehicle and sign a condition report before keys change hands. Our control team coordinates the timing, monitors each leg in real time, and keeps the customer informed throughout. If a delay occurs at any stage, traffic, mechanical issue with the recovery vehicle, whatever the cause, the control team reroutes or dispatches a backup from the network rather than leaving the vehicle waiting indefinitely at a services car park.
