The process is straightforward. Contact us with your vehicle details including the make, model, year, and location, and we will arrange a convenient collection time. Our operator will arrive, check the vehicle identity against the V5C log book, and load it onto our recovery vehicle. We handle the DVLA notification of disposal, and you will receive a Certificate of Destruction which confirms that the vehicle has been legally scrapped and that you are no longer responsible for it. This is an important document, as without it you could remain liable for the vehicle even after it has been scrapped.
We take our environmental responsibilities seriously. All vehicles are processed at authorised treatment facilities that meet the requirements of the End of Life Vehicles Directive. This means that hazardous materials such as batteries, oils, coolant, and fuel are safely removed and disposed of before the vehicle is crushed and the metals recycled. Glass, plastics, and other materials are also separated for recycling wherever possible. We currently achieve a recycling and recovery rate of over 95 percent, significantly exceeding the legal minimum. Our service is completely free for standard cars and vans, and we may even pay you for your scrap vehicle depending on current metal prices and the weight of the vehicle.

What's Involved in Scrap Car Collection
End-of-life vehicle disposal is governed by the End of Life Vehicles Regulations, and using an unauthorised facility or simply abandoning a car can leave the registered keeper liable for removal costs or even a fixed penalty. Our scrap car collection service removes that risk entirely. We collect vehicles from anywhere in the UK using our own recovery fleet, transport them to an authorised treatment facility, and handle the DVLA notification of disposal on the customer's behalf. The result is a Certificate of Destruction, a legal document confirming the vehicle has been processed correctly and that the registered keeper bears no further responsibility for it.
Before the vehicle is collected, our operator verifies its identity against the V5C logbook and notes the condition for our records. There is no need for the car to be running, taxed, or MOT'd, it travels on our transporter, not under its own power. Personalised number plates should be transferred to a retention certificate before we arrive, as registration marks cannot be recovered once a vehicle has been scrapped. If the V5C has been lost, we can still proceed with additional identity checks, though having the logbook to hand speeds things up considerably.
At the authorised treatment facility, hazardous fluids, engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, refrigerant, and fuel, are safely drained and disposed of before the bodyshell is de-polluted and passed to the shredder. Metals, glass, and plastics are separated and directed to the appropriate recycling streams. Collection is free for standard cars and light vans, and depending on the weight of the vehicle and current scrap metal values, we may also offer a payment. The quote is confirmed when we have the make, model, and rough condition, there are no costs that appear after the vehicle has been loaded.
